Cuticles protect our nails from external influences and present a barrier to infections that are easily spread on nails and skin that surrounds them.Taking good care of them stands as a base of proper nail care. Dipping fingers in warm water for a few minutes greatly reduces the effort of pushing them back. They should not be cut using scissors or a cuticle remover. They should be pushed back, using a wash cloth. Only the excess skin should be cut. Keeping your cuticles well groomed is easy with a little effort. Dryness is the number one reason for getting hangnails, and when your cuticles are ragged, dried and peeling, it’s a sign that you need to moisturise them. The first step is to apply hand cream, lotion or nail oil and rub it into the cuticle.
